The launch of the three-day IGAD Gender Office Capacity-Building Workshop in Dadaab, Garissa County, marks a meaningful step toward strengthening women’s leadership, inclusion, and participation in refugee governance and community decision-making.

The workshop brings together women from both refugee and host communities, creating a vital platform to exchange experiences, strengthen knowledge, and build stronger networks around leadership, peacebuilding, and social cohesion. Discussions throughout the sessions have centered on inclusion, resilience, and the essential role women continue to play in shaping stronger and more united communities.

A special appreciation goes to Ms. Amina Farah (Xubi Fatah) for her inspiring leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing gender equality and empowering women across the region. Her dedication to creating platforms that amplify women’s voices and encourage meaningful participation continues to make a real and lasting impact.
